The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Javier Celdrán, and the Mayor of Ojós, Pablo Melgarejo, presented this morning the international congress "Art, Nature and Landscape in the Mediterranean", which has the collaboration of the Mediterranean House, the Cajamurcia Foundation, and the Campus of International Excellence Mare Nostrum, which will analyze and reflect on the links between different artistic disciplines with the preservation and enhancement of the natural environment.
This initiative, which will host the Cultural Center of Eyes between October 11 and 13, hopes to bring together a hundred researchers, experts, artists and managers of the natural environment to analyze the link and the possibilities of joining artistic creation and its dissemination in relation with nature.
"This international congress is an opportunity for diffusion and social and economic revitalization of the Ricote Valley, and more specifically Ojós, which has some of the most unique landscapes of the Region of Murcia, and has great possibilities as a setting for the creation and artistic reflection ", assured Javier Celdrán;
who added that "we unite culture, nature and tourist activity that will be generated in the days of the congress, and the added diffusion that will suppose the presence of national and international prescribers in this academic activity linked to Campus Mare Nostrum".
To achieve these objectives, the program of the congress will address disciplines such as painting, sculpture, performance art, installations, sound art and land art, among others, as well as their relationship and complementarity with architecture.
The meeting will serve as an element of investigation in the aspects that intervene in the fields of art-nature and art-landscape, where artistic interventions that contemplate the particularities of the environment, territoriality, landscape and culture will be analyzed.
The four areas of congress are: knowing, promoting and preserving nature through projects in the Mediterranean;
art and nature, with the use of natural elements in contemporary art in different disciplines;
the landscape, the artistic creation and its diffusion in relation to the natural and / or human environment in the Mediterranean;
and spaces, museums, and centers for the study, dissemination and creation of art linked to nature.
The process of submitting communication proposals is now open, which should be done until May 27 by sending them to the email email@example.com.
