The Ministry of Finance and Public Administration is building a garden next to the municipal swimming pool, with areas for walks, playgrounds, gardens and two petanque courts.

The garden of the Hespérides is located on Nueva Street and occupies an area of one thousand square meters.

It will have a space of children's games of 40 square meters with a pergola that will provide shade, as well as a fountain, benches and litter bins.

The works will end during the month of December.

The general director of Local Administration, Manuel Durán, visited the works that are being developed together with the mayor of the town, Pablo Melgarejo, and explained that "it is an infrastructure that improves the environment of the pool and that has involved an investment of 62,000 euros charged to the Community Works and Services Plan. "

In addition, the garden has as an added value that citrus trees from all over the world will be planted, recovering native species that are practically no longer cultivated, such as the Ojós lemon trees, and others such as citron, limoncillero, kumquat, grapefruit, mandarin and orange.

65 works in 41 municipalities

The Works and Services Plan for 2017 will reach the 41 municipalities in the region with less than 50,000 inhabitants.

This action includes more than 7.8 million euros, of which 6 are borne by the Autonomous Community.

It includes the realization of 65 works, mainly of improvement in streets and sidewalks, renovation of public lighting, works in parks, replacement of services and works in municipal facilities (cultural facilities, social centers, markets, etc.).

The purpose of this Plan is to articulate the collaboration of the regional government for the comprehensive and adequate provision of local competition services, as well as to reduce the deficit in infrastructures and basic facilities of the municipalities of the Region with a population of less than 50,000 inhabitants.

As of 2018, the Works and Services Plan will have a biennial character with the aim of allowing municipalities to carry out larger works, since they will have more financing and more time for their execution.
