The Community will build parking areas for buses on the road linking Ojós with Ricote (13/03/2017)

Fomento will repair the road that connects Ojós with Villanueva to avoid landslides

The Ministry of Development and Infrastructures this year will build two bus stops and parking bays on the RM-521 road, linking the municipalities of Ojós and Ricote, said today the councilor Pedro Rivera to the mayor of Ojós, Pablo Melgarejo, with Who held a working meeting.

The construction project is already drafted and will be put to tender soon.

The stops will be located at the level of the municipal cemetery, on both sides of the road, in order to facilitate the connection of the urban center of Ojós with the cemetery and the parking of vehicles for the collection and lowering of users.

The land for the execution of the stops has been ceded by the city council.

Rivera explained that "this project will improve the safety of the waiting area of ​​travelers on this road that is a route widely used by the neighbors of the area and that records a transit of about 500,000 vehicles a year."

In addition, improvements will be made to drainage on the right side of the road to avoid dragging and flooding of the roadway.

The bidding budget of the work is 76,100 euros and the expected execution period of two months.

The owner of the Fomento announced that works will soon be carried out on the road RM-522, which connects Ojós with Villanueva del Río Segura, which was damaged by the rainy storms of December and January.

The works consist of the cleaning of ditches and the assurance of the slopes to avoid detachments.

The planned investment is 17,000 euros.

The council also works on the proposal for action of the RM-522 road, which links Ojós with Villanueva del Río Segura, for the extension of the platform and construction of a pedestrian zone, in the section between the urban center of Ojós and El Viewpoint of the Salto de la Novia, which allows neighbors who use this route to walk do so safely.

This project will be written this year.

Likewise, Rivera said that it is studying the refurbishment of disused areas to build three vantage points that were out of service due to the construction of variants of improvement in access to Ojós.

The Solvent, on the road that connects Ojós and Blanca (RM-520);

And the viewpoint of La Zorrera, on the Ricote road (RM-521).

The Minister of Development explained that the works for the construction of five duplex townhouses in the town of Ojós are in the final phase.

Families who have special economic difficulties to gain access to a residence will be awarded in a rental scheme.

Rivera also informed the mayor of the € 11.3 million aid that the Community is earmarking this year to regenerate urban areas and rehabilitate housing (ARRU), within the Housing Plan 2017.

The city council is studying the possibility of requesting an ARRU, which would contemplate actions in housing such as improvements in foundations, façades, roofs, accessibility and sanitation;

And works in the urban area that regenerate degraded areas, with improvements in green areas, urbanization and streets.
