The candidate for mayor of Ojós, Francisco Javier Avilés, accuses the local government of the PP and the Directorate General of Roads of not fulfilling the agreement of the Plenary so that it can circulate without problem when landslides occur

The candidate for mayor of Ojós by the PSRM-PSOE, Francisco Javier Avilés, denounces that the residents of Ojós and Ricote are forced to make a detour of 7 kilometers to communicate with the rest of the Region, because the RM highway -522 is cut after collapsing as a result of the rains.

Francisco Javier Avilés states that the General Directorate of Roads should have carried out the works for the repair of the RM-522 highway, which links this town with Villanueva del Río Segura, but has not done so.

This issue has been denounced since 2017, when the PSOE filed a motion in the Plenary Session of the City Council, but did not succeed.

The socialist candidate says that, finally, two months ago in the plenary session an agreement was approved by all the political groups, but the PP government has not complied.

Avilés has indicated that "it is urgent that this road be fixed so that the population of Ojós and Ricote does not have so many difficulties of access with the rest of the Region, because it supposes an unjust punishment to this area".

The socialist candidate for the Mayor of Ojós has indicated that "today this situation has been repeated again, and the neighbors can only access Murcia through a livestock road located on the other side of the river, where rain has also caused detachments. "

Francisco Javier Aviles has assured that the PSOE has made all the necessary steps to avoid it, but the same has not happened with those responsible for the local government of the PP, who have ignored the agreement of the Plenary, or the Directorate General of Roads, He has not fulfilled his part.

"We ask the Popular Party not to continue lying and damaging the neighbors of Ojós and Ricote and unblock this problem without further delays."
